Kapellenberg Le Mur is Göttlemann's flagship Riesling. It has an intense aroma of peach and a long aftertaste. The wine's residual sugar keeps it away from being one dimensional.
The Riesling grapes were grown in one of the best vineyards in Nahe - south-facing, steep, sheltered from the cold winds of the Hunsrück mountains and surrounded by a wall.
This vineyard was planted 15 years ago. It's average yield is about 50hl/ha and harvesting starts in the last week of October, or even in the first week of November. The wine was fermented and matured with indigenous yeast in huge oak casks until May. It produced 700 bottles.
Göttelmann's 2017 Kapellenberg Le Mur Riesling pairs well with fish, crustacean and pasta dishes.
