The Kirchenstück is the most prestigious vineyard in the Pfalz, only 3,67 ha. It is the only vineyard in the entire region which was ranked by the highest ground-ranking (65 points) in 1828 by the government of the Bavarian Kingdom. The slope is situated just on the brim of the village of Forst behind its church. It contains sandy loam, with clay structure. Partly influenced by limestone and the in Frost so typical basalt of volcanic origin. The Kirchenstück is partly surrounded by a brickwall almost like a "clos". Due to differences in layers, it is the vineyard with the most diverse structure.
Careful handling and treatment of the vineyards and later of the grapes. Selected handpicking took place between the 13th and 23rd September. The entire grapes were pressed and the wine was fermented in traditional oak-casks. The fermentation last for four weeks. The wine stayed on the less until 15th May and was bottles on July 2018.
It is a very sence and compact great wine with an amazing structure. It offers an enormous potential of flavors, even now in its youth. Mineralic notes and hints of flintstone combined with peachy, fruity notes.
