Delicate flavours of cherry, raspberry, sandalwood, and fine leather. Fine and well structured, elegant tannins with good body and a very good ageing potential.
Grown on very rare limestone soil, perfectly suited to Spätburgunder / Pinot Noir. The vines were planted in 1967 and do grow very low yields. The quality of the grapes are always exceptional. The grapes were hand harvested, de-stemmed and then fermented in open top oak-fermenters and the so called “Cuves” and punched down by hand. After fermentation they were gently pressed and put into 225 litre barrels made from the finest German and French oak. The wine was never fined nor filtered.
