The grapes were grown on south-east facing vineyards just a few kilometers from the Nahe river just at the beginning of the wildly romantic Middle Rhine Highlands.
The black slate soil creates optimum growing conditions for the vines, by collecting the sun's rays during the day and giving back the recovered heat at night. The age of the vineyards ranges from 12-30 years.
Grapes were picked during the second week of October. Fermentation and maturation took place in temperature controlled steel vats. A total of 5,000 bottles were produced.
This Riesling shows a light yellowish colour in the glass, whilst little bubbles indicate a lively freshness. The fragrance is reminiscent of gooseberry and kiwi fruit.
