In the Wirsching estate Scheurebe is well known as a specialty. The Wirsching Estate in Franken is seen as the region's pioneer for this grape variety because in 1952, Hans Wirsching was actually the first to plant this extraordinary varietal in Franconia. With their lengthy experience they have become true experts in this grape.
This Scheurebe wine is a delight due to its fresh and fruity bouquet. Exotic, zesty aromas such as grapefruit and mango combine with a subtle, yet refreshing acidity making this wine delicious to drink. It is creamy, yet zesty with the herbal grapefruit. Wirsching's 2017 Scheurebe QbA dry is a terrific aperitif wine.
Fermentation is at a lower temperature which means the carbon dioxide is preserved, giving the wine its tangy character and pleasant freshness.
The Wine Spectator awarded this wine with 89 points, "A heavier example, with a velvety texture. Not as highly aromatic as other Scheurebe whites, this offers notes of melon and dandelion at the core. Savoury finish".
