Vineyard: The vineyard is located around Schweigen on the French / German border. The soil there is rich in limestone and the vines are between 25 and 50 years old.

Winemaking: The grapes were carefully selected by hand, de-stemmed and fermented separately from the mash. After two to three weeks of fermentation in open oak barrels, the grapes were gently juiced. Further maturation took place for 16 months in small oak barrels. The wine is filled without filtration.

Wine: Becker's Schweigener Spätburgunder is a pleasant, clear ruby red. On the palate it is a juicy, elegant wine with good length and structure. On the nose it has scents of blackberries, tobacco, plums and spices with vanilla notes.

Drinking Temperature: 15- 17°C

Alcohol: 13,5% vol.
