This Frühburgunder has flavours of intense wild berries such as blackberry, as well as aromas of mocha and plum. The oak is well integrated.
Vineyard: Frühburgunder (Pinot Madeleine) is a very rare variety of wine and originates from the Pinot Noir. The grapes ripen earlier than Pinot Noir and grow well in regions with cool climates. The old vines were planted in the early 90s at one of Bischel's highest located vineyard site of the village.
Vinification: The grapes were selected by hand. They were then fermented in their skins with natural yeast. Afterwards, the wine matured in French barrique (20% new oak) barrels for 18 months, and was then bottled without filtration.
