Frühburgunder (Pinot Madeleine) is a very rare variety of wine and originates from the Pinot Noir. The grapes ripen earlier than Pinot Noir and grow well in region with cool climates. The old vines were planted in the early 90s at one of Bischel's highest located vineyard site of the village. A perfect condition for this exciting variety.
The grapes were picked and sorted by hand. They were then fermented in their skins with nautral yeast. Afterwards, the wine matured in French barrique (20% new oak) barrels for 18 months, and was then bottled without filtration.
Tasting notes: Wild berries with intense blackberry and aromas of mocha and plum. The oak is well integrated.
