"Fragrant nose, but into the straight and narrow on the palate with lime and stone linearity. Quietly conservative, classic, cool." / Tamlyn Currin @ Jancis Robinson / 15 points
Bischel's Estate Riesling has aromas of peach and fresh lime. On the palate, it presents itself with a delicate, juicy minerality. A precise interplay of sweetness and acidity gives this wine its finesse and lightness.
Vineyard: The grapes come from younger Riesling vineyards in Appenheim and Gau-Algesheim. Limestone characterises the soil, and combined with the south-facing medium to steep slopes, create optimum growing conditions for this grape variety.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand according to ripeness. For optimal extraction of aromas, the grapes are gently crushed in the winery and left to stand in their own juice for a few hours. After gentle pressing, the juice is fermented with wild yeast in stainless steel vats.
