Regular price £32.50

The grapes used for this wine originate from the Ihringer Winklerberg, which is recognised as the warmest vineyard site in Germany. Due to strict reduction or yields, the distictive terroir character and the unique micro climate, this wine meets the highest requirements in the way as they are common for “Grand Cru” appellations in France. After traditional mash fermentation process this wine has been aged for 16 months in party new barrique barrels to refine its character.
Remarkably noble and deep bouquet of red plums, wild cherries, berry compote, rhubarb and spicy vanilla. Rich and expressive on the palate. Fanned out complexity and with savoury but unobtrusive spiciness and a discreet warmth. Slightly smoky aroma of red current, cranberries and dried plums. Perky acidity and a finely spicy but not superficial tannin. Fine grip and discreet minerality in the finish. A Spätburgunder of respectable class and remarkable aspiration.
Food recommendation: A perfect partner with sophisticated meat dishes, especially with herb based roast meats. Equally good with feathered game and various types of savoury cheeses.
