“Sonett” is an internal denomination of the Weinhaus Heger for high quality wines. Rich and juicy yellow fruit of pear compote and greengages. Round and easy-drinking with wild acidity and pleasant inner freshness. Open and fine character with rounded edges, therefore very harmonious and balance. Discreet acidity in the finish.
The red wines of our Estate are mash fermented in the traditional method that is also common in Burgundy, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in oak barrels. Combined with hand harvesting and intense vineyard management, this very gentle processing leads to age worthy wines.
Tasting note: A fine, ripe and unobtrusive bouquet of preserved wild strawberries and red cherry compote. Lean and lively on the palate. Filigree, easy drinking and with a very discreet tannin. Slightly smoky aroma of dried berries in the finish.
Food recommendation: This Spätburgunder matches well with hearty meat dishes. Also very good with many types of game dishes, savoury Mediterranean fare, and various types of cheeses.
Maturity: This Spätburgunder is ready to drink now but will gain additional harmony and elegance within the coming years.
