"Fragrant with thyme, wild berries and red cherries. Refined and approachable with a good concentration of flavours. Black pepper and dried herbs add charm to a core of smoky red cherry. The wine was fermented on skins for 18 days and then aged in used oak. This Spätburgunder is ready to drink now, but will gain additional harmony and elegance." / Decanter: Best Weekday Wines / 92 points

"Fermented in skins, 18 days standing time. Matured in big oak and used barriques for 13 to 15 months.
Savoury, cooked strawberries and rose petals. Sour-cherry finish. Astringent tannins." / Tamlyn Currin @ Jancis Robinson / 15 points

Tasting notes: A fine, ripe and unobtrusive bouquet of preserved wild strawberries and red cherry compote. Lean and lively on the palate. Full bodied and complex, yet filigree, easy drinking and with a very discreet tannin. Slightly smoky aroma of dried berries in the finish.

Character: The red wines of they Estate are mash fermented in the traditional method that is also common in Burgundy, followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing in big wooden casks. Combined. with hand harvesting and intense vineyard management, this very processing leads to age worthy wines.

Food recommendation: The Spätburgunder goes well with hearty meat dishes. Also very good with many types of game dishes, savoury Mediterranean fare and various types of cheeses.

Maturity: The Spa4tburgunder is ready to drink now but gain additional harmony and elegance.

Soil: Loess (nutrient-rich soil that has been formed during the last Ice Age)
