Vineyard: The grapes were grown in the most famous single site in Münster-Samsheim called Dautepflänzer. The difficult name of the site is a pleonasm, because Dauten means young seeding and Pflänzer just the same. Göttelmann own 1,2 of 3,6 ha, the exposition is strictly south, the vineyard is steep 20-30%. The ground is covered with gravels of red quartzite slate.
The age of the vineyard is more then 35 years and yield is not. more then 45 hl/ha.
Wine: The grapes which are totally ripe green berries with red cheeks were harvested in the last week of October. The wine was fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel and matured in huge wooden casks made of nearby Hunsrück oak. The output was 2000 bottles.
Tasting notes: The wine shows a solid aroma of peaches and apricot with long lasting aftertaste with a little imagination you can even taste the Hunsrück wood.
Food recommendation: Enjoy is with light meet, lean pork or veal.
