The grapres for our "A" wines grow on pure weathered volcanic soils and basaltic rock on the Kaiserstuhl mountains. These specially selected soils have amazing veins of limestone running throgh them and are unique in Europe, giving the wines their inimitable minerality and structure. We select only the best: the best grapes from the best vineyards of that vintage year, and then the best oak casks for the wines' maturation. Our "A" wines are only produced in good vintages and their concentration and ageing protential can hardly be bettered. The varial character of the wines is convincing and completely true to type and the wines demonstrate he potential of the Kaiserstuhl in the most ompressive manner.
