The name Pfarrwingert goes back to the Catholic church of Dernau, that is still land owner in this land parcel. The especially favourable southwards exposition, the slope angle and the soil that is easily to warm up cause an advantageous micro climate in this vineyars.
The high percentage of greywacke and slate is partially decomposed to a sand stone like structure. Pfarrwingert creates extremely aromatic fruity and subtle wines with an elegant flavour.
