Regular price £77.10

Characteristics:
This delicious Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) has rich aromas of dark cherry, wild blackberry and ripe raspberry & blueberry. These intense fruit scents are underlined by a soft roasted aroma, as well as fragrant violets. A full-bodied red wine, it has a long and elegant tannin structure. Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder is an extremely aromatic, fruity and yet subtle wine.

Vineyard:
VDP.GROSSE LAEG are nominated as some of the very best German vineyards, within which grapes that produces the finest of Grand Cru wines grow. With their site-specific characteristics, these wines are particularly expressive and have exceptional aging potential.

The vineyard's especially favourable southwards exposition, steep slopes and rich soil warms up quickly in the sun creates an advantageous micro-climate for the vines. The soil's high percentage of greywacke and slate has partially ground down into a sand stone like texture.

Altitude: 200m
Slope gradient: 50%
Soil: Slate, greywacke, loam

Vinification:
Old vines, meticulous vineyard work, consistent yield reduction and careful hand-picking ensured only the finest grapes were used for this wine. The fully ripened grapes were harvested in late October 2016, with a yield of 25 hl/ha gentle treatment, aging in Barrique (oak barrels) for about 16 months and stored for 6 months in the bottle.
