Frühburgunder is an old grape variety belonging to the Pinot family. It could be described as early ripening variety of Pinot Noir. The very small, thick-skinned grapes produce fruity and full-bodied wines with an intense colour. Its velvety taste is characterised by a fine acidity and gentle, delicate tannins.
Fully ripe grapes are hand-picked, gentle treatment of the crop and maturation in barriques (French oak) for 7 months, for the most part in used barrels.
Tastes dominated by berries; raspberry and huckleberry, morello cherry and elegant floral aroma, cacao bean and roasted aroma with soft tannin structure.
