The name Sonnenberg (sunny mountain) speaks for itself, because of its soughern ex-position and flavourable slope angle it profits high sun intensity and advantageous microclimate. The soil is a stony conglomerate of slate and greywacke with a high percentage of loess and loam. The Pinot Noir of this vineyard side is voluminous and full bodied maintaining a fruity elegant character because of the slate contingent.
Complex bouquet that is affected by blackberries, blackcurrent, morello cherry and chocolate with a hint of liquorice. Complex and long mouthfeel with harmonious tannin.
Soil: greywack, sandstone loam and slate
Vinification: Harves of the fully ripe grapes end of October 2016 with a yield of 25 hl/ha gentle treatment, ageing in Barrique for about 16 months (70% new oak).
