Frühburgunder is an old grape variety belonging to the pinot family. That could declared as early ripening variety of Pinot Noir. The very small, which-skinned grapes produce fruity and full- bodied wines with an intense colour. Its velvety taste is characterised by a fine acidity and gentle, delicate tannins.

Ahr region: The secret of the Ahr wines is based on a perfect microclimate created by geological conditions. The steep, south-facing vineyards provide optimal exposure to the sun. The predominant weathering soils of slate and greywacke are easily heatable and able to store this heat as well. This is how narrow valley which is protected by the mountains of the Eiffel quickly heats up and offers the vines an ideal habitat.

Vinification: Hand picking, yield about 30-35 hl/ha, maturing in barriques (French oak) for 10 months, for the most part in used barrels (no new oak).

Tasting notes: In nose an taste dominate berry fruits like raspberry and huckleberry, morello cherry and elegant floral aroma, cacao bean and roasted aroma with soft tannin structure.
