Our Silvaner Alte Reben (old vines) fascinates with its intensive taste and minerality. In general, the appellation "Alte Reben" defines the vine's age of the least 20 years. In our estate the grapes used for making such wines come from vines an average age of 40 years. Old vines have thick and much deeper roots enabling them to take up more extracts and minerals from the soil then young plants. That gives the wine its powerful character.
The complex flavours are extraordinary: the fragrance of wild herbs, unobtrusive notes of fruits like pear and apple together with a concentrated taste and long lasting finish ensure a great pleasure. A wine promising a brilliant future.
This Silvaner suits perfectly to dishes with rich sauces, but also to roasted fish and sea food, poultry or veal.
