"Crystalline lime. Marble verticality. Carved in sine and cosine. The angularity of this Riesling is striking after tasting Wirsching's Silvaners. Very composed, linear, forward-focused. Glass-cut fruit. Lithographic lime and green apples tightening into a fiercely arrow-like, unstoppable finish." / Tamlyn Currin @ Jancis Robinson / 17 points
This Riesling Grand Cru from the top site Julius-Echter-Berg is one of their premium wines. The Julius-Echter-Berg promises concentrated and powerful wines with a strong character.
The distinctive mineral notes reflecting their terroir and aroma of ripe peach define the character of this Grand Cru. Additionally, the fine hints of citrus notes provide a pleasant tension on the palate. The crisp, but subtle acidity gives the wine its delicate structured body and truly animates to enjoy the next sip. Thank to its lingering finish it allows an even longer enjoyment.
To create such a premium wine a great deal of work was necessary in both the wine cellar and the vineyard. In the early stage of ripeness, for example, we divided each grape to ensure perfect conditions for the future vegetation process and to reduce the number of grapes on the vine. Enabling the growth and efficiency of the vine to concentrate on the few grapes left.
Aroma: Characterized by mineral notes coming from the soil, wild herb notes, ripe peach, honey, melon, grapefruit, white pepper with a hint of exotic yellow fruits.
