Knebel 2022 Trockenbeerenauslese Röttgen dry white wine

Knebel 2022 Trockenbeerenauslese Röttgen

Regular price £275.99
"There was very little botrytis in 2022 – the fruit was perfect.

Shimmering intensity. Like salted caramel with salted apricots. So concentrated and so stunningly perfect and so way too young that words are awkward and clumsy and pointless. If you can afford it, open this wine in 15 years' time, and I still defy you to describe it."

Nectar of the Gods.

Grapes for this Trockenbeerenauslese were grown on 50-60 year old vines. The Röttgen vineyard has a VDP.GROSSE LAGE (Grand Cru) classification, which is a guarantee of quality and signifies that this dry white wine comes from the very best of German vineyards. As such, this unique wine has great aging potential. The south / south-west facing vineyard is steep and terraced, with soil rich in iron and slate.

The raisins, dried on the vines, and were carefully selected by hand. Afterwards, they went through another selection process in the cellar, so only the best were used..
