We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the GDPR Directive).

Information we collect, and why:

We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your order and secondly to provide you with the best possible service.

The type of information we collect and store about you includes:

Your address, and any alternative delivery addresses.

This enables us to fulfill orders that you place with us, and to contact you to arrange delivery or notify you of any problems with your order.

 

We may use previous purchase histories to tailor more relevant offers to you, and avoid duplication of unwanted marketing material.

 

Payment & Credit Card Details:

Our website does not store any of your payment or credit card details - we use Shopify Payments and Paypal, 3rd party providers of secure payment gateway services.

 

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files which are placed on your computer when you visit a website. First party cookies are set by the site you have chosen to visit. Third party cookies are set by sites external to the one you are visiting. Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies do not immediately expire and will remain on your computer until they reach their expiration date or you choose to remove them. Cookies are not computer programs and they cannot spread viruses. They cannot access other information stored on the users computer in order to get a user's email address for example. Customers may opt out if they prefer. The WineBarn recommends that you accept cookies from our web site, as you will not be able to use our online shopping service without them.

If you take the opportunity to 'share' The WineBarn's content with friends through social networks – such as Facebook and Twitter - you may be sent cookies from these websites. We don't control the setting of these cookies, so please check the third-party websites for more information about their cookies and how to manage them.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Providing your personal data to others:

We do not, and will not, sell any of your personal data to any third party.

However, we may disclose your personal data with certain categories of companies as an essential part of being able to provide our services to you. This includes our delivery couriers and email delivery providers.

 

Internet Security

Our website is hosted by Shopify, who utilise SSL certified encryption (the green secure padlock) everywhere, not just on the contact forms but across the entire website. They are also fully PCI compliant meaning both parties are further protected, for more information you can read about it here.

Marketing Communications:

The Winebarn only send communications (by email) to customers who have previously opted in to receive such communications via our website, or who have expressly consented in person (by phone, email or at a Trade show) or by 'legitimate interest'.

If you decide you no longer want to receive marketing communications from us you can opt out at any time by using the 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any email.

Your Data:

What information we store

Personal data held by us is limited to customers’ names, addresses and telephone/fax numbers, email address and wine storage address details. No further information is collected by way of cookies on the website.

We do not store customers’ credit/debit card details or bank details. We do not share any of our customer details with other institutions, wine merchants or other parties.

You have the right to make sure your information is correct and up to date, and the right to request a copy of the personal information we have on file. If you want to update any of your information, including your marketing preferences, you can email us and will update this within one month.

If you decide you would like us to delete the data we hold on you, or to transfer that data to a third party of your choice, please include your name, address, and/or email address when you contact us.

 

Wine Lists and Wine offers

We use email to send our wine list and wine offers to our customers. There are ‘Unsubscribe' instructions at the bottom of these emails if you no longer wish to receive them from us or alternatively you may request this in writing or by telephone.

On our website we have links to a number of restaurants the we supply. Please be advised that if you choose to click on these, you will then be subject to the privacy policies of these companies and no longer ours. Whilst we support the protection of privacy on the internet,The WineBarn Ltd cannot be held responsible for the actions of parties outside our web domain.
