Vineyard: The Appenheimer Spätburgunder grows in the classified VDP.ERSTE LAGE (Premier Cru) Eselspfad vineyard. First mentioned in the 14th century, the Eselspfad is the warmest limestone vineyard of Appenheim. The site guaranteed ripe and dark fruits for full bodies and long-lasting Pinot Noirs.
Wine: The grapes are picked and sorted by hand. The grapes fermenting on skins by wild yeast.Afterwards the wine mature in our finest barriques for 18 months (30% new oak). The wines are bottles within filtration.
Tasting notes: Smoky, with elevated minerality and intense cherry aroma with notes nuts, cloves, and white pepper. Acidity and tannin are pleasant, although a bit closed off with a long finish.
