The grapes are picked from the oldest vines of the VDP. GROSSE LAGE (Grand Cru) HUNDERTGULDEN.
The limestone soil there is based on a coral reef developed during the tertiary era. The steep south-west facing slope is one of the most calcareous vineyards of Germany and gives us shape and precise wines.
Fermentation: All grapes are selected and picked by hand. After a short maceration on skin, the must fermented by wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels until January. Afterwards another mature on lees until bottling in July.
Wine: Peaches, ripe apples and spicy herbs on the nose. Rich and complex taste with aromas of quince and pear, full-bodied Riesling with ripe exotic flavours. Great saltiness and minerality in the long lasting finish.
