"Cream-cheesy, pear florals and ripe pomelo citrus. Not the depth of the Ihringer Winklerberg Weissburgunder, but there is a touch of spice and the fruit is rounded and the finish is as fresh and clean as newly washed, line-dried white cotton sheets." / Tamlyn Currin @ Jancis Robinson / 16 points
Tasting notes: This Grauburgunder Premier Cru has wonderfully expressive notes of ripe pears, mirabelles and cantaloupe melon. Supple approach and pleasant richness on the palate. Juicy and dense, this wine shows all the great characteristics of Pinot Gris without any heaviness. The volcanic rocks provide a very fine spiciness. Perfectly balanced acidity structure with fine weight and presence in the finish.
Food recommendation: An excellent wine along with grilled fish, savoury roasts, chicken and feathered dame, as well as with hearty Mediterranean dish and pasta. Also a good recommendation for mind cheeses, spicy titbits or tapas. Try with truffled pasta.
