Vineyard: The vineyard is located on the middle and upper slopes of a hillside in an area which extends in a south-easterly direction, embracing the historical part of Westhofen. A chain of hills to the west and north of the location protects the vineyards from old winds. Dur to the gradient and exposition of the land, the vineyards enjoy optimum exposure to the sun. The vineyard is classified ad VDP Grosse Lage.

Soil: The heart of Kirchspiel terrain is a composition of marlaceous clay, a large proportion of limestone skeletal remains and a small proportion of weathered chalky clay soils. Limestone is the predominant component of the sub-soil.

Wine: The grapes were harvested in their oldest Riesling vineyards in Kirchspiel. The harvest is always at the end of the harvest to get fully ripe, golden yellow Riesling berries with intense fruit flavours and also a good part by noble rot shrivelled raisin berries.
