For more than 680 years, Schloss Reinhartshausen has been a part of Rheingau wine culture. Established in 1337, the family run winery on the Rhine river is renowned for its organic, award-winning Riesling.
Mariannenaue, an island in the River Rhine, is a European nature reserve, and since 2015, a protected designation of origin for quality wine. The mighty Rhine formed the island of Mariannenaue about 10,000 years ago on a bed of limestone rocks made of sand and gravel washed up from the Alps. Its location, in the middle of the River Rhine, creates a special micro climate. This micro climate provides optimum conditions for Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes to grow within the 24 hectares of organic vineyards. The unique terroir gives Schloss Reinhartshausen wines their distinctive character defined by their origin.
