"Smells of ripe lemon and candied lime peel. Pure wild refreshment underscored with a quiet nuance and focus. It evolves in the glass shifting all the elements like a kaleidoscope in new and beautiful ways. It's all there - no matter how you look at it."

Tasting notes: This dry Riesling Grand Cru has an intense herbaceousness on the nose with delicate peach notes and hints of citrus. A beautifully balanced white wine, it has spicy and smoky aromas. Grippy on the palate, it impresses with its minerality, saltiness and play between acidity with creaminess.

Vineyard: The Kirchenstück is the most prestigious vineyard in the Pfalz (Palatinate-region) and by this the Romanée-Conti of the Pfalz. It is only 3.67 ha in size. It is the only vineyard in the entire region, which was ranked by the highest ground-ranking (65 points) in 1828, by the government of the Bavarian Kingdom. The sloping Kirchenstück vineyard is situated on the brim of the village of Forst, just behind its church!

Soil: The Kirchenstück vineyard has soil rich in sandy loam and has a clayey structure. It also contains limestone and basalt of volcanic origin.

Winemaking: Picked by hand at the end of September, the grapes were then gently pressed and fermented in traditional oak barrels. The wine was then left on the fine yeast until it was bottled in June 2023.

Food recommendation: This wine will aged well. While it is still young it pairs well with all varieties of seafood. Once it has aged, it will also pair wonderfully with white meat.
