Vineyard: The Gas-Algesheim Spätburgunder grows in the classified VDP.ERSTE LAGE (Premier Cru) JOHANNISBURG vineyard. Named after St.John, the vineyard is next to a centuries-old stone path that guides to the Jakobsberg monastery. The loamy limestone soil and the warm, but wind open side guaranteed concentrated and powerful Pinot Noirs with freshness and a great ageing potential.
Wine: The grapes are picked and sorted by hand. The grapes fermenting on skins by wild yeast. Afterwords the wine mature in our finest barrique for 18 months (30% new oak). The wines are bottled without filtration.
Tasting notes: Fine notes of black currant and cherries, as well as sweet spices. The wine shows a full-bodies, well-concentrated and juicy freshness with a beautiful future ahead.
